100 Things About Me (a work in progress)

1. I am named after a rose garden in Edinburgh
2. I used to have dreadlocks
3. I once spent a summer holiday using a gas cutter to turn corrugated iron into lace panels for an artist friend.
4. Consistency surprises me
5. I get bored easily.
6. Purple turns me on.
7. I am adopted
8. I have a degree in art history
9. I used to be a secondary teacher
10. I love to crochet
11. Christmas also turns me on – even though I am a pagan, childhood stuff I guess
12. I love birthdays, they should be birthweeks
13. I believe we need more festivals/celebrations, preferably with public holidays attached
14. Thinking about making stuff keeps me awake at night.
15. I love snow
16. I have nearly always been fat, even when I wasn’t I thought I was
17. I don’t think body shape matters
18. I firmly believe that judging a book by its cover is one of the stupidest things anyone can do
19. I really love reading and always have
20. When I was a child I wanted to be a boy, now I am old I am so glad I’m not
21. Favourite presents – any sort of lovely yarn and/or large bottle of Jagermeister  Easy to please.
22. Cats or dogs – really don’t mind.  However I am  Mother to Toastie the Terrier who really doesn’t like cats.
23. I love beer

25. I love new stationery and new books
26. I would love to work either in a book shop or a library
27. I do appreciate realism in art BUT abstraction and conceptual art are mostly what I love.
28. I hate reality T.V. really hate..
29. I firmly believe in the fundamental connectedness of everything
30. I love to eat and read at the same time – I know that this is probably bad for me as I am not truly paying attention to either activity but – too bad.
31. I prefer hot water bottles to electric blankets
32. Curry is my favorite food of all time
33. Best feeling – having a hot soapy bath with a book, hoping into flanelette pjs and then into bed with flannette sheets and a hot water bottle.

35. Love being with a friend and thinking of the same thing at the same time, and laughing
36. Love growing our own veges, and the satisfaction of preserving food, making chutneys and jams
37. Wouldn’t go back to being young even if it was possible
